About
Dr. Sprintz is a national subject matter expert on chronic pain. Dr. Sprintz is triple board-certified in Pain Medicine, Addiction Medicine, and Anesthesiology, and is personally in recovery for over 20 years. He has a passion to help others achieve a better quality of life, both physically and emotionally, and improve their relationships with family, friends, and themselves.
Dr. Sprintz currently serves as a member of the FDA’s Analgesic and Anesthetic Drug Products Advisory Committee and was a member of the Joint Commission Standards Review Panel for Pain Assessment and Management, as well as the Joint Commission’s Technical Advisory Panel for Pain Assessment and Management in Behavioral Healthcare. Dr. Sprintz was Past-President of the Texas Society of Addiction Medicine and a member of the American Society of Addiction Medicine’s Drug Testing Expert Panel. Currently, Dr. Sprintz serves as a member of ASAM’s Practice Management and Regulatory Affairs Committee and the Pain and Addiction Educational Program Planning Committee, as well as a member of the ASRA/ASA working group on Substance Use Disorders, which is creating the foundational guidance for pain doctors and anesthesiologists throughout the country by defining the educational needs and skill sets necessary for pain doctors and anesthesiologists to effectively identify and manage complex pain patients and substance use disorders.
Additionally, Dr. Sprintz founded ilumHealth and Cellarian, Inc., which develop innovative software that helps healthcare providers identify and help their patients who may be struggling with dependency on prescription drugs and other addictive substances get the care they need as fast as possible.
In 2008, he went on to complete his surgical internship and Orthopedic residency at Stanford University in Stanford, California. While in residency, he was selected as an American Orthopaedic Association Resident Leader Representative.
Upon completion of his residency training, Dr. Briseño was chosen as an AO (Arbeitsgemeinschaft für Osteosynthesefragen) Spine Fellow and underwent Fellowship training in Spine Surgery at Harvard Medical School at the world-renowned Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.
He is currently a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
Dr. Briseño’s medical interests include but are not limited to, minimally invasive spine surgery, spinal decompression, spine fusion, deformity correction, artificial disc replacement, spine trauma, and general orthopedic trauma.
He also serves Covenant Christian Academy in Colleyville as their team physician.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and children.
